Viticulture

We are a family run vineyard and farm in Timboon, Southwest Victoria. This is a cool climate site situated along an escarpment of clay and limestone tempered by the Southern Ocean. We are establishing a dense planting of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cab Franc under organic certification, farmed through the lens of biodynamics and permaculture.

Fruit from beyond our vineyard, comes from the accountable hands of Victorian growers who are committed to farming sustainably or certified organic and/or biodynamic.

Vinification

Everything is picked by hand. Ferments are wild. Fruit is basket pressed and moved by gravity where possible. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with much consideration - no use of additives. An ode to the Matriarchs (The Babches) in our families who made wine this way, by hand and unadulterated.

Our wines do not aim to meet a style, rather express the nuances of a variety, its site, and the context it is grown in. We hope you enjoy.
